Sweet Embrace

Baby, you are still inside
My belly as I write,
But I still send you kisses,
All through the day and night.

You are the most precious thing,
That I have ever known,
It amazes me to think about
How much you've grown and grown.

I just can't wait to meet you
And to kiss your tiny face,
And hug and squeeze you oh-so-tight,
In a mother's sweet embrace.

I remember when I first found out that I was pregnant. I could not get enough reading in about how my baby was developing week by week. One of the most exciting experiences was going to get my ultrasound done.

Thinking about my baby and knowing that he or she was growing inside of me was one thing, however, actually seeing my baby on the monitor was a life changing experience. Although I could not totally make out all the features I could see the head, the tiny arms and legs.

This experience allowed me to feel that much closer to meeting my new bunddle of joy. As I saw my belly grow I made it a ritual to rub my belly and talk softly to my baby. I would tell him how I could not wait to meet them and when I started to feel the kicks I believed that the baby knew that I was talking to him and that this was his way of communicating with me.

I could not wait to embrace my new baby and look at him and finally be able to tell him how much I love him. But this time instead of looking at my belly I could finally look at his sweet face and tell him how much I love him.

If you are the creative type like myself and are looking for some free poems for baby scrapbooks, than you will find plenty of different ones on these pages. Have fun!

Yours Truly,
Cynthia Cook
