A New Baby Poem

When We Meet Face To Face

My ten little fingers, my ten little toes
My cherub frame, and my button nose.

Long for the moment, when we kiss and embrace,
On that blessed day, when we meet face to face.

Please nurture and love me, teach me to pray,
And God will guide us, along the way.

Just as Jesus', "Footprints in the Sand",
I trust you will carry me, and hold my hand.

I Love you already, as you do me,
Our journey has begun, as a Family.

This new baby poem talks about seeing a newborn smile for the first time. This will give you a warm feeling inside as you smile back at your beautiful infant.

Newborn Smile

They say that newborns cannot smile,
But I simply just don’t buy it,
There is a sure way to see them smile,
You just have to know when to try it.

You wait until they’re sleeping,
And watch them for a while,
Just muster up your patience,
And you will see a smile.

It’s well worth the wait,
What I’m saying is true,
And nothing beats the moment,
When your baby smiles for you!

People always tell you that your baby is not able to smile until they get a little older, however, when you see your baby smile at you it does not matter how old they are even if they are just a couple of days old. I remember watching my daughter sleep and this was more for the reason of feeling comfortable and at ease about making sure that she was breathing and that everything was alright.

I thought that I was imagining things when I saw her smile for the first time. I thought to myself that all the sleepless nights have finally caught up to me. But when I looked closer I saw another little smile that this time convinced me that it was the real thing. I quickly ran to my baby memory baby book and was so proud to write the day, month, year and age of my daughter under the heading "firt smile".

I was so excited over this little event, that I called up both Heather and Andra with the great news. I invited them over for coffee. Andra came with this new baby poem that is featured on this page. I placed it inside Sophia's memory book.

Yours Truly,
Cynthia Cook
