Newborn Baby Poems

Sharing newborn baby poems with the new mommy and daddy is wonderful idea. These are sentimental gifts that they will cherish and share with thier beautiful babies.

Baby Life

I’m new to this world, just a few days old,
And someone just pinched my cheek.
All I can say, (and I can’t say much),
Is that they’re lucky that I can’t speak!

And what is with all of this carrying around?
I was fine just laying on mommy,
But I’m picked up and moved and folded on laps,
I’m starting to feel like origami!

But then it’s all over and I’m back with my mommy,
And all is as calm as it seems,
I stare at my mommy and think to myself,
I’ll be seeing her soon in my dreams.

I remember bringing my daughter home from the hospital and as I walked throught the door there were about fifteen people waiting for us. The majority of these people were family and friends from my husbands side. So at this point I not only had about 4 hours of sleep in the past two days but I now had to entertain people.

I thought to myself "how am I going to pull this off" and because I am a control freak I thought that I had to do this. It was then that I called my best friend and I was crying into the reciever telling her that I felt overwhealmed.

About ten minutes later Heather was sitting beside me at the edge of my bed passing me tissues as she tried to explain to me that it was ok to not do things the way I used to. Because I now had more important things to worry about like taking care of my new baby and myself. She made me realize that my baby was not going to remember if I was a good hostess but rather remember if we spent time together and had mommy and daughter time together.

Ten minutes after this conversation, Andra showed up with a bunch of framed newborn baby poems that she wrote for me. These poems made me feel so good inside and happy. Sophia still has them on her wall, she loves them.

Yours Truly,
Cynthia Cook
