Upon Your Lap
A tiny sleeping baby
Is just the sweetest thing,
Dozing off upon your lap
Or rocking in a swing.
Sing the babe a lullaby
And look upon that face,
With lashes resting on pink cheeks,
Your heart just fills with grace.
So peaceful and so quiet,
The whole place seems so calm,
It's times like this you think
That you were born to be a mom!

I know that it is a good thing to have your child feel the constant comfort of his or her mommy. However, my daughter Sophia was so used to falling asleep in my lap that I actually had to get up in the middle of the night when she awoke and sit doewn in a chair in order to but her in my lap and let her fall asleep.
This may have been very cute when she was tiny but now that she is a little older I noticed that my arm and lap are feeling the fatigue. Does anyone have any suggestions? I mean I do not mind doing this but I would like her to break the habit before it gets to a point where I will no longer be able to hold her.
I really enjoy sharing and collecting scrapbooking baby poems like the one that Andra wrote above. It brings back so many wonderful memories and it's so cute. I really like it.
Yours Truly,
Cynthia Cook
